If youâve been following my newsletter, you know Iâm navigating the messy middle of my Crohnâs condition and the beautiful chaos of momminâ! This new season is all about: – Progress, Not Perfection – Simplify to Amplify – Flowing Spaciousness and Harmony.
đ˘ July is going to feel FASTER, like a roller coaster!
Some people love it, while others are scared. Bella had her first roller coaster ride at Legoland last month. She was terrified and swore sheâd never do it again, but by mid-day, she was ready to ride again because her cousins wanted to go. And guess what? She ended up loving it!
During our visit, I soaked in a marvelous essence of joy. I was tired, as I havenât been on my feet this long in ages, and I was anxious about how my body would hold up. But I checked in with my obstacles for the day and was able to plan things out. Surprisingly, that joy filled me with strength and energy.
đ By shifting our perspective and embracing joy, we can elevate the worldâs vibration together. Letâs welcome July as a new Joyful Journey!
As we navigate escapades and exhaustion waves, we can choose to ride them or risk being swept away if we arenât aware of the **â11 OBSTACLES.â** (đ Watch the video and plan your week knowing the obstacles that may arise. Itâll align with making you feel safe.)
Slowing down has been a game changer for me lately as I step back from the relentless pace of work to combat burnout. Iâve been spending more cozy couch time with Bella, enjoying movies without the urge to multitask or plan ten steps ahead. And honestly? That pause has created space for more joy to blossom.
đ¤ Wanting to Hold Onto Joy?
I want this feeling to last. To stretch it out, soak it in, and keep it going.
I stumbled upon this fascinating theory:
âď¸ The Broaden-and-Build Theory Barbara Fredrickson, a leading researcher in positive psychology, reveals that emotions like joy, love, contentment, and interest not only feel good but do good, too. Unlike negative emotions that narrow our focus, positive emotions broaden our minds.
Embracing these uplifting feelings opens us up to creativity, connection, and play. By leaning into joy, we actually build invaluable inner resources:
- We deepen our relationships.
- We grow our resilience.
- We enhance our physical and mental health.
- We cultivate emotional muscle memory, making it easier to access these states again.
So, when you feel joy and want to hold on, rememberâitâs not just instinct. Itâs your mind and body working together to help you thrive.
đWhy This Matters Itâs easy to dismiss joyful moments as fleeting or indulgent, brushing past them in the hustle. But savoring joy and saying, âLet me stay here a little longer,â lays the groundwork for a richer, more resilient life. Joy isnât just a bonus. Itâs a builder, a healer, a guidepost.
âď¸So, How Do You Keep Joy Going? You donât have to chase joy. You can create space for it. Here are a few things Iâve been trying: – Slow down more often, even for a few minutes without multitasking. – Allow moments to be enough. Notice what already is without adding pressure. – Savor the good moments. Say it out loud: âThis is joy. This is what matters.â – Reflect on those moments later, like through this newsletter.
Joy may be fleeting, but its impact doesnât have to be. The more we allow ourselves to feel it, the more likely it is to return.
âď¸Iâd love to hear from you!
If this resonated, Iâd be honored to know where youâre at. Pick one of the prompts below and hit reply to share your thoughts:
- Iâve felt that kind of joy recently, too. Hereâs where I was when it happenedâŚ
- Iâve been moving too fast to feel much of anything lately. But Iâm ready to slow down.
- I want to experience more joyâbut Iâm not sure where to start.
I read every response and do my best to reply, even if it takes a little time. I love hearing from you!
